Saturday Stands for Loaves and Fishes Meal Program!

Written by Eunjeh Sung

It is another Saturday! You know what that means! It is time to head on over to Loaves and Fishes Meal Program :)))))) As you may know, Giving Tree has been serving at Loaves and Fishes Meal Program for a while now, and we love it. Even though it is the same routine every week, something about it makes it feel different each week and allows us to get a different experience each time. In addition, we are now able to recognize familiar faces and build strong relationships with them. Isn’t that great? We are all able to converse well with the people around us and sometimes even get compliments.

On Saturday, November 12th, a couple of our Giving Tree members headed out to the First Korean Church in Cambridge to help out at the Loaves and Fishes Meal Program. Like always, we sorted out the pantry donations by category so that it is easily accessible by those obtaining them. Some of the other volunteers helped out with setting up the tables by laying a table cloth over them, setting up utensils, adding chairs. and preparing the space for people to comfortably come inside and eat. Lastly, we cut up cakes into smaller pieces and prepared the deserts such as cupcakes, cookies, and other pastries, onto smaller plates to serve.

With everyone’s contribution to preparing, the community members were able to comfortably come inside and join us for a meal. Thank you everyone! We hope yo see you next Saturday as well!
