Our Cambridge
Written by Chris Rhee - Interview Faith Choi
On August 6th, 2022, members of the Giving Tree headed to the First Korean Church in Cambridge to continue spreading God’s love and spirit to the needy. Today, the meal that we offered was hot chicken teriyaki with rice. However, before serving the main course, we served out fresh, homemade lemonade to fight the heat. Thankfully, the heat did not affect the overall mood of the pantry and things went smoothly. With the strength of God, we can proudly say that today’s pantry was a success.

Faith:
“Today was a very emotional day. A man had bruises all over his face. It was purple all over. He had tripped in his home. He had asked for prayer and was in tears at the end. It really hurt to hear what had happened. Another man had told me that there was an image of a man and a computer screen in front of the church. He told me that the window that we served from reminded me of the computer screen. He said that he wanted to tell us everything as you would to a computer. It was bittersweet. There were many fun moments as well. I also got to practice my rusty Spanish with some of the recipients. There were some weird moments as well. I got a marriage proposal…. I love coming every week and I hope that Giving Tree can give a thoughtful gift to our community.”
