Cambridge Saturday!

August 14th arrives and were back at the pantry again, and it was busy! Maybe it was the nice weather, or people were just in better moods, but more people than usual showed up. Today’s two main dishes were cooked chicken with rice and falafel. Fortunately for both us and the people receiving the food, we had to exact amount of meals needed to provide for all of them. We had zero extra meals and no more people to give food to; no food was wasted.

On the pantry’s side, we had an excess of bread this time around, so we were able to give out 2 pieces instead of the usual 1. Even after some of them had gone two or even three times through the pantry, we had plenty of bread left over. After all the food was handed out, lots of people stayed to chatter and have fun with each other for around another hour. We closed at around 7, happy with what we were able to accomplish.
