Another Sunny Performance at Jenks

Written by Jungyoon Lee

Today, Giving Tree and its members went to The Jenks Center in Winchester, Massachusetts to share our gift of playing music with the senior citizens.

Throughout the event, after every piece one member played, the audiences would clap encouragingly with a smile on their faces along with a word or two of compliments, and it allowed us to continue throughout the program with ease. With such a group of talented musicians, we certainly had a variety in music that we played, from the beautiful melody of Gabriel’s oboe by Morricone to Claire de Lune, a piano classic by Debussy. Our audience highly enjoyed our performance and it was great knowing that they appreciated the gift of music that we wanted to spread to them.

It was a blessing knowing that we were able to heal many hearts today through our music, and we are so thankful to hear that many people were moved by our playing. As musicians, we have recognized that music has a unique way of allowing itself upon our attention as no other art has; the message each and every piece of music conveys is beautiful and powerful in its own way.

For everyone who listened to us today, we want to thank you so much for allowing us to convey our own message of healing and comfort! :)
