Harmony through generations

This week Giving Tree and its members went to the Drake Village in Arlington to share our music with their senior residents. It was our first time performing as an organization so we were slightly worried but also full of excitement! Everything about the event was perfect. We had an amazing group of talented musicians along with a vast variety of pieces and music.

The whole event was full of laughs from music falling off the stands, to stopping the music to turn pages, to a very unique bassist…and many more.

We finished the performance with a group photo and some refreshments as we conversed with the residents. Our audience absolutely loved our music as we got loads and loads of genuine smiles and compliments. Many residents had revealed how they too had a passion for music once. One resident expressed how touched she was because it reminded her about her childhood in Russia where she played an instrument.

We are so glad we were given an opportunity to really touch people’s hearts with our music. Thank you so much to everyone who helped make this opportunity possible :)
